About
Finding a hospital or doctor working with parents is becoming more difficult. It often appears our exercising our parental authority and endeavoring to work with them instead of submitting to them really hits their pride quite hard. As if parents are expected to bow low before their fallible (albeit educated) opinions. Yes, we want medical care for our children and are oftentimes in urgent need for their health’s sake. When a parent clues into the harm that’s being done then is there recourse?
This was our predicament. When power is put into the wrong hands it can poison hearts and minds. Then a tyrant is formed. So we searched from one place to another for a situation without a Nero-like attitude. We faced lies and punishment dialysis in order to be put on a transplant list. We said no to that. When we pushed back we were denied care.
Some children are not denied care but are victims of medical kidnapping. God-given parental authority is usurped by those contradicting reason and parental intuition. It would be in the interests of families if those situations can be avoided altogether.
So we as parents need to build a hub that brings us together. Where we can find answers and help others to do the same. Whatever they throw at us we have a better chance of survival if we work together. If we stay together, we survive. We have heard too many horror stories. Too many deceiving doctors using our children and our insurance as a cash cow. When the source of income starts looking for answers elsewhere they turn to vices of all kinds to keep that income coming. So what did one parent who ducked the buck do differently than another who is mauled by the system?
We’ve been through both. We were bruised and afflicted many times through the years. Our number one piece of advice would be to pray. Number two is to search far and wide. We even searched out of the country but lack of funds put a stop to that. Number three comes from experience: to give our children a better life we have to put them in a culture of life. Our country is too often the promoter of a culture of death. How can such people then see through such a thick fog and be committed to giving life?
We found the Latino culture to be still promoters of life. Medical care in a Latino atmosphere is so much different than medical “care” in other places. So here we are, putting this site together. Hoping to help and encourage parents to better health care for their children and themselves. Health care that will keep the vices of the system from harming our God given children. We have a responsibility before God. We have a responsibility to give them the best we can. We can do that together!
